GoNintendo 'End of Day' thought - Destin feature: Happy Valentines Day

I’m plodding through Dragon Quest VI to give you guys a review. It’s going to take awhile, because I’m absolutely hopeless when it comes to traditional RPGs. The first hour or so was filled with death after death. I’m learning as I go along…but very slowly. Hopefully my review will do the game justice. Aww it’s Valentines day again.  Time for chocolates, flowers, and little to no gaming.  Sad face.  There is hope however.  If you’re lucky, you can convince your significant other to take a break from all the romance and get down to some good ol’ waggling action.  With the Wiimote you pervs.  Here’s some of my picks for the best games to whip out on mushy day.

Boom Blox
Keep it simple.  Knocking down some blocks together may not get any hearts melting, but it could be fun.  The best way to describe Boom Blox is by comparing it to Jenga… on crack.  You can play a classic game or blow up all kinds of creations with a flick of the wrist.  Of course she’ll love blowing up little characters, why wouldn’t she?  It’s a sure fire way to have a little bit of fun in-between feeding each other whip cream covered strawberries.

Wii Sports
Yes the classic strikes again.  If she or he for some reason hasn’t played it yet make sure you pop it in.  It’s the one game that I find myself coming back to time and time again just to play a round of bowling or some tennis.  If you’re both sick of it however, maybe you’d like to play something a little newer.

Donkey Kong Country Returns
Heck yeah!  The ape returns, this time with some two player action.  Donkey and Diddy Kong work together to collect bananas, puzzle pieces and finish off those annoying bosses.  So give it a shot and find out who can cause the most rumble in the jungle.

Just Dance 2
Guys, I am so sorry if your girlfriend reads this article first.  I know you don’t want to dance, I know that you probably just want to stick to some other cardiovascular activities, but give it a chance.  Getting up and pretending to be a good dancer is a lot more fun than you may think, and if you just tried it out you may find out you like it.  I was always skeptical of dancing games, but I would totally give it a shot.  Yes, I know I’d look ridiculous.

Mario Kart Wii
It’s pretty simple for anyone to play Mario Kart and that’s why it’s easy to put onto the list.  Everyone enjoys racking a Karts around the track and the best part is that races don’t take up a lot of time.  Meaning that you’ll have plenty to spare for any other plans you may have.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii
Last, but not least is the latest Super Mario Bros. title.  I know for a fact that you can have a lot of fun playing this with another person, even if you’re blaming them for killing you half of the time.  That said there’s few things more satisfying than finishing off a boss with someone you care about.  Okay, there’s a lot of things more satisfying, but it’s still fun!

Well I hope you found something to play together with your loved one on Valentines day or heck, any day of the week.  Even if you’re spending the day by yourself I’m sure you’d enjoy at least a few of these games.  Then when you do have someone to share them with you’ll be able to show them the ropes.  Happy Valentines day everyone.  I hope you have a good one.
