Wii killing prime-time TV in Japan

It looks like the Japanese are spending a lot less time watching prime-time TV. What are they filling their time with instead? Well, let’s see what a TBS executive had to say.

“The quality of programming has always been a little cyclical in Japan, but there has never been a period of decline like the one we are seeing now. There are outside factors at work. One is people watching TV on their cell phones where we can’t track them, but the really big factor is the time people are spending on the Wii.”

I would definitely say that the Wii provides a lot more fun than a large amount of TV shows on the air right now. Perhaps it’s time to start making shows based off of Miis!
