A bit of a site update for you guys. Just wanted to let you know what’s going on behind the scenes, and what’s around the corner. I figured it was a nice way to start the week off. I’ll catch you guys in just a couple hours. 2 and a half hours of sleep is enough, right?! Have a great morning everyone.

My dear god, no matter how many games I review, my backlog just keeps building. I swear, I get done reviewing a week’s worth of games, and by the end of that week I have the same amount left. The holiday season is ramping up at a ridiculous rate, and this week is going to be one of the worst. I have a pile of games as it is now, but I know that it’s only going to get worse due to this Tuesday and Wednesday. If you were complaining about the lack of games on the Wii, these past few weeks have most likely given you plenty to play. Hell, I know most of you are just interested in Super Mario Galaxy, which will most likely suck away a ton of your time this week. Don’t forget about the other great releases for your Wii and DS though! There are a number of big name titles coming out, and these third parties need your support! Of course, if the game is garbage it doesn’t deserve a second look from you. The thing is, most of the titles on their way out are indeed quality titles. If you’re wallet wasn’t hurting already, it will be by the time the holiday season is over.

I had the pleasure of a quick chat with Matt Casamassina over the weekend, and he too is hit hard with the review schedule. Over at IGN, it’s just him and Bozon handling the Wii reviews, so they too are feeling the crush. Well, I am sure everyone in the game review/preview business is feeling the pain. There’s just so much product out there that it’s insane. This is without a doubt the biggest holiday season I’ve seen in years. Things are huge on the Wii and DS, but the other platforms are seeing a massive rush as well. Both competitors have a ton of AAA product on the way, and I am sure a few of you are looking forward to some of those games as well. I don’t know how any of us are going to have the time to play all these games!

My review schedule will continue on. I simply need more time to actually play these games. It’s hard to squeeze all these games into a tiny window. As much as Galaxy is calling me, I am doing my best to play all the other titles. We still have reviews of Spyro for the GBA, DS, and Wii coming, as well as Bee Movie DS, Guitar Hero III (most likely tomorrow), Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn (coming from Lube!), Dancing With the Stars, Victorious Boxers Revolution, and others that escape me at the moment. Like I said, I just need to find a way to squeeze more time into getting these games done and reviewed. The rest of this week will have reviews, and I’ll do my best to get one up every day.

On a side note, we have something in the works that should be very entertaining. Nicky Hill and Deux Michaels approached me with the idea, and it’s a really fantastic one. It’s going to take a bit of work to put together, but it should be well worth it. It’s going to involve a lot of people, and it will be a reoccurring piece. The topic centers around the hardcore/casual debate, but that’s all I am going to say about it. I know its a very hot topic to discuss, so the way we are lining things up should make for some great discussions. I don’t have a time frame for that piece, but it should kick off within the next week or two.

I just wanted to update you guys on my situation. The reviews are coming, as they have been for the last 2 weeks. There are more live streams coming too, with Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 definitely being one of those. If you want to see a live-stream of a specific game launching this week or soon thereafter, please leave a comment and let me know. I am going to try and push the games that need pushing, instead of devoting a lot of time to Mario and Sonic or Galaxy. Those games should sell very well without much coverage from us. You will still get reviews of course, but nothing much other than that. If there’s a huge outcry for a M&S live-stream, I am sure we can work one in.

It’s a great time to be a gamer, especially one on the Nintendo side of things. There’s a lot to do, and a lot to choose from. You guys just make sure you enjoy your games, take your time with them…and have some fun!
