We wrap up one contest and kick off another! I want to really stress that Cort is running this contest, so it should go off without a hitch! My touch is the kiss of death for contests, so I’m steering clear of working on this one! You guys read up, enjoy the opportunity, and participate! I’m off to bed…I’ll see you in a few, short hours. —RMC

Hey everyone, cortjezter here with a hopefully exciting opportunity for those of you who dig House of the Dead: Overkill, Sega, or just free swag. What’s up for grabs this time around is even more scarce than the Limited Edition pre-order bonus: an ultra-rare collectible “VHS box”, complete with a postcard and package addressed to Isaac Washington, containing a special viral Overkill T-shirt.

Sega has granted us 10 of these endangered species to award users who can do one thing for us: write a postcard caption. Not just any caption, but a postcard from a zombie on vacation.

How it’ll work is:

You have until Friday, March 6, 2009 @ 5pm PST to come up with your entries and submit them (see below).

You can write it in a simple text paragraph, or if you’d like to be more creative, create an actual postcard… be it something you make and scan/photograph, or Photoshop it together. I’ll even provide you a starter right here.

Creativity counts, so make use of the rich subject matter—including the style of humour from the game—to make the most of your message.

Since this is intended to be a community feature, blog comments on this story are closed. You can submit your entries, comments, and discussion to this dedicated thread on our forums, or email it directly to me.

Winners will be selected and announced sometime after the weekend beginning March 6-8, 2009. The game is M-rated, but the prizes don’t seem to be, so anyone age 13+ can enter, US residents only.

I whipped together a banner with a special embedded link to this story and contest information, for easy access all week. Thanks to Sega for giving us the chance to give you the chance to get something none of your friends are likely to have this side of eBay!

Good luck!! —cortjezter
