Here’s quite an interesting bit of history. As we’ve mentioned in the past, Mike Tyson’s Intergalactic Power Punch never saw the light of day…ever. Due to all the issues that Tyson was facing at the time, this Punch-Out!! quasi-sequel was tossed into the garbage. A few elements were then changed, and Power Punch II was then released.
Fast-forward to today, and now you can actually play/purchase a copy of Mike Tyson’s Intergalactic Power Punch. The ROM prototype was dumped, sold, and and is now being put into carts by the fan/mod scene. Check out the video below for what we’ve been deprived of for so long.
As you can see, all this is possible because the game never actually saw release, and the prototype ROM was dumped. It’s tough to tell if any legal issues are at play, but I’m pretty sure it’s smooth-sailing. Obviously, if anyone involved in the development of this game has any issues with this it being available for purchase/download, we will let you guys know.
