British prison bans game console based on Wifi capabilities

GN Version 3.1

Britain’s Rye Hill prison just got a little less game-friendly. The prison has decided to take away any/all PS3 units that the prisoners have. The reason for doing so was because of the wifi capabilities of the platform. The PS3 has an Ethernet port, as well as a wireless adapter built in. No more online communications for these jailbirds!

This leaves me wondering if the same has been done for those inmates that have a Wii. Does the prison even know that the Wii has online capabilities? Most consumers don’t seem to know that!
