Console owners are big on streaming video
Nintendo has a few streaming video choices for the Wii in Japan, including a first-party solution. In North America, we can at least watch YouTube videos. Just how much do console owners like watching streaming content on their platforms? A study from In-Stat gives us the details
- streaming video via consoles will generate $2.9 billion in revenue by 2013
- 29% of U.S. 29 to 34-year-olds owning game consoles use watch streaming content
- by 2013, a projected 10.7 million consoles will make up the 24 million homes viewing web-to-TV content
