Dear Reader:
The Beatles: Rock Band - McCartney understands that people get exposed to music through games, and one analyst thinks very poorly of teens
“It’s one of the ways your music gets listened to these days. and I’m never going to be snobby enough to say, ‘I don’t want it to be listened to unless it’s on a vinyl record player.’ That’s nonsense, because it keeps changing.’’ - Sir. Paul McCartney
Glad to see that Mr. McCartney has a good opinion of games…at least when it comes to a game he’s in! One analyst believes that not a single teen in the U.S. will care about McCartney being in a video game…or The Beatles having a game altogether.
“I don’t believe there’s a teenager in the US who cares about The Beatles: Rock Band, and I don’t think this is the economic environment to go after new gamers.’’ - Joe Spiegel, industry analyst at Dalek Capital Management in New York
Is this guy serious?! It’s comments like these that make it very easy for me to see why I’ve never heard of Joe Spiegel before. Not only do I believe that there are millions of teens that enjoy The Beatles and are looking forward to this game, I also believe it’ll be one of the holiday season’s top sellers. Let’s see which analysis ends up right. Thanks to Travlun for the heads up!
