While Nintendo spotlighted April updates in a new trailer focused on those playing in the Southern Hemisphere, there are a couple things to note for those Northern Hemisphere villagers as well!
A new Cherry-Blossom rug that was introduced in the version 2.0 update is now available to craft for the first time. And in addition to Zipper T. Bunny returning on April 10th, the reintroduction of Prom-themed items also make a comeback throughout the month.
While most of this stuff is not new for longtime players of the game, it will be helpful for those who are new to the world of New Horizons.

Sonic Tries to Race Against Movie Spoilers in Twitter Video
Please heed the hedgehog
In an effort to avoid ruining the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie for unsuspecting fans, the title character has taken to Twitter himself in a brief video to urge fans to keep their spoilers to themselves.
Its a plea that may have already fallen short, but it is good to see our iconic character be proactive against this type of stuff!
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 releases exclusively into theaters on April 8, 2022.

Horror media website Bloody Disgusting has posted the first part of a new interview with Jasper Byrne, the creator of the 2012 pixel art indie hit Lone Survivor.
Among the highlights are his recollections about his inspiration for the game, an early connection to Silent Hill 2, and how his fandom of film director David Lynch played a part in the final project.
The original game saw release on numerous platforms, including the Wii U. The follow-up remake, Super Lone Survivor, is coming to the Nintendo Switch and recently saw a new trailer make its debut.
Nintendo Shares Pictures from the New World of Switch Sports
Move over Wuhu
Nintendo has shared some screenshots on their official Twitter account, giving players a peak at a few of the locations within the world of Nintendo Switch Sports.
The area is called SPOCCO Square and replaces the beloved Wuhu Island setting of Wii Sports Resort. Judging by the looks of it, the art design fits in well with slightly newer direction this followup to Wii Sports is taking.
Nintendo Switch Sports releases on April 29th with six sports immediately playable: Bowling, Volleyball, Soccer, Tennis, Badminton, and Swordplay. Golf is set for a return as free DLC in the fall.

Its Wii and Nintendo DS line were both wildly successful with each selling over 100 million units - the former being a true lightning-in-a-bottle phenomenon and the latter being the second best seller in gaming history. Nothing can last forever, though, as both platforms showed heavy signs of age, and consumer fatigue was setting in. At E3 2010, Nintendo unveiled a successor to the DS named the Nintendo 3DS, which would be released the following year.
Today marks the eleventh anniversary of the 3DS’ release in North America, making it the perfect occasion to look back on the little handheld that could - and did.

Since leaving Nintendo, Reggie has kept himself busy and in the public eye with annual appearances at The Game Awards and making speeches across the country. His upcoming book, Disrupting the Game, is still set to launch this Spring.
Epic Games and Fortnite Crosses $50M for Ukraine Relief
Battling for a cause
As a follow up to what we reported here, Epic Games is continuing to donate proceeds from Fortnite to help with the humanitarian effort for those affected by the unrest in Ukraine. An update has been provided and states the tally has now crossed over $50 million.
With a commitment for all proceeds from the game to go towards the cause through April 3, 2022, this number is only going to go up from here!
Samantha Robertson has been a fixture at Nintendo for many years. She has emerged as one of the public faces at the company, taking over hosting duties for many Nintendo Treehouse presentations and live streams.
Samantha posted on Twitter today that she has decided to move on from Nintendo, looking to embrace a new outlook on life and living it to the fullest with new challenges and opportunities ahead.
