Analyst - 3DS sales will set direction for industry, Iwata defends 3DS eye warning

“The 3DS will answer the big question of whether consumers still want dedicated machines when smartphones are rapidly expanding as a gaming platform. Its success or failure will set the direction for the industry.” - Yusuke Tsunoda, an analyst at Tokai Tokyo Research Center

Some of that success could have something to do with how dangerous people think the 3DS is. With the eye warning making the rounds, some consumers seem a bit nervous. With that said, Iwata stands by the 3DS and doesn’t think it’s going to hurt anyone.

“We are not saying that [the 3DS] is a dangerous device. We are being proactive about informing our customer.”
