Zynga tried to buy PopCap before EA swooped in
EA now has PopCap as a major feather in their cap, and I’m sure great things are going to come from both companies. Many other developers were trying to pick up PopCap, and it seems that Zynga was the closest one to do so. Inside sources claim that it came down to both EA and Zynga, but PopCap decided that the potential was greater with a EA pairing.
