*UPDATE* New Castlevania for DS on the way?

It’s funny, just the other day I was thinking about when we would be seeing the next episode of Castlevania goodness on the DS. Looks like Nintendo Power is reading my mind. Thanks to Blake from Infendo for the info! This little blurb appeared in the most recent Nintendo Power under the Next Month section.

“We can’t tell you what’s on the next issue’s cover but trust us-we’ve go the biggest scoop of the year so far!… As mysterious as a new moon, the follow-up to one of 2005’s best DS titles is a whip-smart adventure that you won’t want to miss.”

I have a few things to guess here. First off, perhaps the main character will have a whip as his weapon of choice instead of Dawn of Sorrow’s sword heavy gameplay. Second, maybe we will see a return to some of the traditional Castlevania gameplay. I yearn for a new Castlevania that somewhat follows the design of earlier incarnations such as Super Castlevania IV. A mix of the two (classic Castlevania and Symphony of the Night “style”)…pure bliss! Last but not least, there is a rumor going around that this new Castlevania will be none other then a sequel to Circle of the Moon, and it will star Alucard. Keep in mind, this is all speculation!

UPDATE - Here is the scan in question obtained through DSFanboy. It appears as if the quotes coming from Nintendo Power may be dealing with two seperate games. Perhaps the first part of the quote is unrelated to the world exclusive below, perhaps not. Take it as you will.
