A question and answer from Miyamoto’s interview in Famitsu…

Famitsu - When will the game head to Japan? It is planned for November 12 in the US. Japanese fans would also like to know when it will be released here.

Miyamoto: In fact, we create the game so that it can be released everywhere in the world at the same time. However… as Japanese people create the game, and as we create it in Japanese… isn’t it. (laughter).

While the translation isn’t spot on, it makes it sound like Super Mario Galaxy may hit Japan a little earlier than the US.
