Our friends N’Gai Croal and Geoff Keighley have put together yet another analysis of the NPD sales data, this time looking at the hardware and software numbers for October. They talk about the lack of Metroid sales, why Retro should jump ship, why Sony should publish games on Nintendo platforms, and a lot more.

They also discuss the breaking news that the NPD is going to stop releasing all their sales data to non-paying customers. Well, they aren’t going to halt things completely, but they are going to do some major cut-backs. It looks like we’ll have to wait for leaks to get our sales data, or pull them from Nintendo, Sony, and Microsofts monthly press releases. What are fanboys going to use to argue with each other now?!
