Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse took home the Oscar last night for best animated film. Personally, I think the movie more than deserved that honor. It was unlike any other animated film I've ever seen. It appears many others felt the same way! Today, while all those involved with the movie enjoy their recognition, we learn a tidbit of the first moment that help set the film's creation in motion.

Comic book writer Dan Slott, the man behind the Spider-Verse comics, took to Twitter to discuss how the entire crossover event began. Believe it or not, Slott gives credit to the idea of Into the Spider-Verse to the game Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions. Slott was brought in to be the writer on that video game project, and his time spent writing for the game helped birth his Spider-Verse comic creations later down the road. As you probably know, those comic events paved the way for the film!
