Valve reportedly made changes to Half-Life after playing GoldenEye

GN Version 5.0

GoldenEye on the N64 was a hugely influential game. It fundamentally changed the way first person shooters worked on consoles, and developers still use the game as a reference to this day. Developers large and small have been inspired by GoldenEye, and that includes Valve.

In an interview with GoldenEye dev David Doak, we hear that Valve decided to make changes to Half-Life during its development due to how GoldenEye handled certain aspects. We don't hear specific mentions of what they went and tweak, but it seems tied to how GoldenEye handled its sophisticate A.I..
