Toy store owner arrested for manufacturing/possessing counterfeit Pokemon and Mario merch

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office has arressted Wan Piao, owner of a toy import store in El Monte, California, and charged him with manufacturing and possessing more than US$1.4 million in counterfeit goods. Piao was in possession of more than 500,000 counterfeit items, all of which belonged to the Pokémon, Hello Kitty, and Super Mario franchises. Piao is charged with seven felony counts of counterfeit of a registered mark, and taking more than US$500,000 through fraud and embezzlement.
