On MSX2, but pushing hard the limits of the 8-bit computer. Author Daemos said recently that it's only missing a boss & end credits screen. Took 6 years.#fangame #MSX #gamedev #8bit #pixelart #homebrew #retrocomputing #chiptune pic.twitter.com/dxR9Il6yRT
The MSX was an 8-bit platform, but you might not know it from the video above. It was created by Mario/MSX fan Daemos, and it took him 6 years of hard work to make it happen. The only pieces this port are missing from the real version of Super Mario World are the end credits and one boss fight.
It doesn't seem this has been released to the public, and it might never be. Nintendo has a habit of swooping in to squash these projects. Daemos wanted to share a look at it as a way to celebrate Super Mario Bros. 35th anniversary, and it would be a shame to see all his efforts get scrubbed from the internet in just a few days.
