Would your hobbies make for good games?
I have no idea why everyone is picking up on this Miyamoto hobbies story right now. We originally told you guys about this back on June 27th! I know that I post a few stories that are dated by a few days, but I wouldn’t say that I miss something big like that statement. Unfortunately, the actuality of what Iwata said to Miyamoto has been blown way out of proportion.
The good news is, the interview is being used as a jumping point for some interesting articles…like this one, for example. Miyamoto uses the hobbies he enjoys to help him create games. Nintendogs and Pikmin are just a few games that were spawned by Miyamoto’s leisure time. Miyamoto is a genius, and could probably turn even the most mundane experiences into gaming gold. What hobbies do you have that would make for a good game? I can’t think of a single thing I do that would be fun for others to play. Could you turn sleeping into a game?!
