Pikmin 4 is coming to Switch on July 21st, 2023, which means we’re just one month away from launch. Ahead of the game’s release in Japan, a new run of Pikmin 4 download cards has hit the shelves, and they surprisingly reveal a lot of new details.

As you can see above, there’s a bounty of new screens and information to mull over. Here’s what’s been deciphered so far:

  • split screen multiplayer features
  • a second player can support the first by shooting with a reticle
  • there’s some sort of house location you can visit
  • there are new treasures like fidget spinners, origami, and beach balls

Along with that, the back of the download card reveals that Pikmin 4 was built with Unreal Engine.

There’s sure to be more details on Pikmin 4 before launch, but it’s nice to get a round of fresh info as a surprise!

Interesting that it uses Unreal Engine instead of Nintendo's own engine. But it makes sense... a lot of the game industry is going that way.

This would make it the second Nintendo title to use the engine and, assuming EAD's the developer, the company's first in-house Unreal game. Yoshi's Crafted World was the first Nintendo title using the engine.
