I recall that when Rayman Legends came out, that despite being a "disappointment," it sold best on Wii U. If so, it's not totally illogical for Ubisoft to go "Nintendo gamers seem to like these colorful platformers!" and release a Switch version. The hole in that logic being that many Nintendo owners already did buy the Wii U version. That said, I'm sure it wasn't difficult to port (assuming this is from the Xbox One/PS4 build) and so I could imagine this being a low-risk/low-gain proposition for Ubisoft.

As an aside, great game. Not as good as Origins, but still great.
