Publisher Daewon Lab Media and developer CRT Games have announced that Snow Bros. Special is coming to Nintendo Switch on May 19th, 2022. The digital version of the game is priced at $19.99, while the package version is $29.99. The physical version of the game is being published by Clear River Games and will contain an instruction manual and three sticker sheets; the physical version will also include the DLC for “Monster Challenge.”
Snow Bros. was a platform arcade game released back in 1990 by a Japanese studio called Toaplan. You play as two heroes, Nick and Tom (2 players), and go through 50 stages that increase in difficulty the further you advance. You defeat enemies by throwing snowballs at them and then pushing them until they hit a wall.
Now the game is being revived under the name Snow Bros. Special, which includes a visual upgrade and a “Monster Challenge” DLC, which will allow you to play as the monsters in the game with special moves and control.

Snow Bros. is a classic platform game that was first released as an arcade game in 1990 by Toaplan, a Japanese development studio that was mainly famous for their shoot ‘em up games. Critically acclaimed Snow Bros. later released for several consoles and home computers. Being well-liked by players, Snow Bros. spawned a sequel on arcade. Snow Bros. gained cult status as a sought-after retro game after having been dormant since the 90’s.
30 years later it’s time for the heroes Nick and Tom to return in a modern interpretation with the title Snow Bros. Special coming to Nintendo Switch later this. Snow Bros. Special has inherited the cute design and the feeling from the original arcade version, but has been upgraded to make it even more fun. The game can be played by two players at the same time.

New in Snow Bros. Special is the “Monster Challenge” mode in which you play as the monsters. Each monster has its own special moves and controls which will change how you play the game. Monster Challenge is included with the physical version and available as a separate DLC for the download version.
