Just a couple of weeks ago, Nintendo shared the devastating news that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 would miss its 2022 release date, and is instead shipping out sometime in Spring 2023. A real bummer for Legend of Zelda fans, but Switch owners in the UK are finding an interesting way of coping.

For the last two weeks in a row, boxed retail sales of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild have seen a considerable increase. The week following the delay, Zelda: Breath of the Wild sales shot up 60% compared to the week prior. One week later, and the game saw another 51% increase in sales. Looks like a number of Switch owners are using the sequel’s delay as a good excuse to hop into the original!
