First of all, when your source is reddit, you've lost whatever argument you've entered. Second of all, cost of development doesn't change the fact that indies are third parties. Third parties aren't defined by development costs. They are defined by being unaffiliated with the platform holder. Indies aren't defined by development costs. They are defined by not working at the request of a publisher. Since being affiliated with a platform holder means working at the request of a publusher, namely the platform holder, not third party means not indie. By contraposition, that means INDIES ARE THIRD PARTY. This is literally basic logic.
