Oh trust me, I rattled some cages back during the Wii era, about certain games in particular.

Such as Street Fighter IV getting like crappy mobile phone and 3DS ports, but "couldn't" come to Wii. Or how Marvel vs. Capcom 3 skipped Wii, yet Wii was totally capable of doing Tatsunoko vs. Capcom.

But while companies are totally capable of making "downports" or downgraded versions of games for Nintendo consoles, this isn't going to stop being an issue, until Nintendo stops having the weakest hardware every generation. Of course, this hasn't always been the case, from SNES to Gamecube, their hardware was quite strong. But ever since the Wii, they have taken the "Ecomony" business model, going for cheap, aging tech, that ensures a lot of third party games are going to miss their system, because a lot of publishers don't want to bother spending extra time and resources on special versions of a game for Nintendo.

I have mixed feelings about it overall. I got mad at EA, and other companies, for ditching the Wii U. But at the same time, I couldn't really blame them. Nintendo themselves stumbled right out of the gate with that system, and most third party games (it started off with robust support at launch), simply didn't sell well. And Nintendo didn't help matters. Things certainly seem better on the Switch, but I still can't help but feel like the system itself, could have been more powerful, and thus easier to port to, instead of spending that money on bells and whistles no one asked for, like "HD Rumble", etc.
