I don't see the issue, price drops as full priced products are a business strategy. If they think they can charge more and get sales they'll do it. If they think they need to lower it to get more exposure or sales they'll lower it.

Not all businesses operate the same. Given Nintendo's first party sales of Wii U games surpassing the sales on Switch I can see why they want to charge them like that.

I think it's entitlement expecting everyone to sell for cheap, or give their games for free with a subscription plan. It's all about how one manages it's business and if that strategy fails or pays off.

To be fair. Fans of Hollow Knight have told that team they sell that game way too cheaply. But that team don't have issues with that. It's their product.
