Many of the franchises and series that have shaped pop culture had [socio]political messages in them. Some have been praised because they challenged norms and conventions. Even some of the more escapist, popcorn type of content have slipped subtle messages or opinions through parody and satire.

It's not a requirement, but to say "keep politics out of entertainment" is practically asking for entertainment that doesnt challenge you or make you think.
