Nintendo just held their 82nd annual General Meeting of Shareholders, and with that comes a new Q&A. While Nintendo hasn’t shared their official translation of the question and answer session yet, some details have snuck out from the meeting, and one shareholder was quite eager to bring up the topic of F-Zero.

In particular, the shareholder was very interested in the topic of remakes or new entries in classic franchises. They name-dropped titles like F-Zero, Baten Kaitos, Wario Land, The Frog For Whom the Bell Tolls, Trade & Battle: Card Hero and Chōsōjū Mecha MG. Nintendo’s general manager of EPD, Shinya Takahashi, responded with the following.

“Regarding remakes of older titles, we are thinking about a wide range of interesting ways to try new and old things. We received a similar question before. At that time, we happened to have a remake planned, so we discussed it, but there are things I cannot say right now.”

It’s not surprising that Nintendo didn’t share specifics on any remakes or entries in old franchises they have planned, but the answer does leave us with some hope. There are plenty of fans who would love to see new entries in the F-Zero and Wario Land franchises in particular, so let’s hope Nintendo has something cooking.

I always thought Bandai Namco owned Baiten Kaitos because they renewed its trademark for it a year ago. Hmm..
