Do I know what NFTs are? I certainly do. Do I understand how an NFT console would work, or who the intended audience is? Those are topics beyond my realm of understanding, but thankfully, I don’t need that info to share this story with you.

Polium is a Web 3 company that has just unveiled the Polium One, the world’s first NFT console. They say this platform will be “a multi-chain console for Web 3 gaming” due out in 2024, and it’ll welcome new games and ports of existing titles. Polium revealed the first image of the console (seen above), and gamers were quick to point out that the console’s logo looked extremely familiar.

Seeing the two logos side-by-side makes it pretty undeniable. At the very least, it seems like the team behind Polium’s logo was greatly influenced by that of the GameCube. Remove one section of a line and flip the cube around, and you’re practically good to go.

Polium has actually responded to the accusations by saying they “didn’t copy the GameCube logo.” They also said that “multiple companies that are using a similar logo,” but they plan on creating a new logo to avoid further accusations.

So it's like the Ouya but worse.

And blockchain is just a solution in search of a problem that wastes more energy than it should.

It's ok, it can't be an NFT console if they don't steal art from someone else
