Back in March, we shared a rumor of a sequel being in the works for Immortals: Fenyx Rising. Ubisoft hasn’t confirmed that sequel yet, but more supposed inside information on the sequel has come out, and it points to the second entry heading in a somewhat different direction.

According to industry insider Jeff Grubb, the next entry in the franchise is “not a proper sequel, but more of a spin-off in the same way.” This sequel will retain a narrator and the colorful style of the first game, but will move away from being such a carbon-copy of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Furthermore, when it comes to the game’s presentation, we can expect something of a “visual reboot” inspired by Hawaiian Polynesian culture.

Finally, if you’re hoping to get your hands on the Immortals: Fenyx Rising sequel soon, we’ve got some bad news for you. According to Grubb, the sequel just entered pre-production and is “maybe” set to arrive in 2025.

That's good news for Fenyx Rising fans, considering a couple of known Ubisoft projects were recently cancelled, as well as another couple of unknown ones.
