Kenichi Okuma’s Twitter has announced that the composer passed away on July 22nd due to esophageal cancer, he was 56 years old.
His most famous work was as a composer on Super Smash Bros. Brawl as the composer and arranger of the following remixes…

Smash Bros. creator Masahiro Sakurai offered his condolences in a tweet and mentioned how the songs he wrote for Brawl were grandfathered in to future Smash Bros. titles like Smash 4 and Smash Ultimate.
