The Pokémon Local Acts initiative has been running in Japan for a few years now. The goal of this project is to beautiful certain areas of Japan, and attract a few tourists to the area as well. A major effort of the PLA has been replacing manhole covers with something a bit more eye-catching. This has been a very popular initiative, which is why Pokémon Co. continues to install them through Japan.

Japan’s Mie prefecture is the latest location to get some sprucing up, with 7 new manhole covers installed. As you can see above, these new covers feature Pokémon designs, with the stars this time around being Oshawott, Samurott, Chingling, Dewgong, Stufful, Clamperl, and Accelgor!

I just love these manholes. Not just the pokemon ones, all the nicely decorated manholes in japan are awesome.
