Nintendo wants to make sure hackers and cheaters don’t mess up the online experience in Splatoon 3, so they’re taking things extremely seriously this time around. Splatoon 3 doesn’t come out until Sept. 9th, 2022, but the Big N has already made sure anti-cheat measures are in place for the full game, as well as the Splatoon 3 Splatfest World Premiere demo.

Dataminer OatmealDome has confirmed that Nintendo’s anti-cheat methods have been implemented in Splatoon 3, but details on what these prevention methods are weren’t shared. What we do know is that Nintendo is ready to issue console bans for those who tamper with Splatoon 3, and believe it or not, the banning has already begun.

When it comes to the Splatoon 3 Splatfest World Premiere demo, some people were using an official patch to enter the testing range early. Nintendo is well aware of this, and they’ve already started issuing bans to players caught using the patch. It’s great to see Nintendo squashing these cheaters right out of the gate, and we can only hope they manage to stay on top of the situation once the full game launches next month.

Nintendo getting squid of the cheaters. I don't get how some people enjoy playing a game and winning knowing full well they've cheated to do so.

Should this be Official or Unofficial?
