Kirby’s Return to Dreamland Deluxe was announced for Switch today, and it’s a port of the Wii original with a new Mecha Copy Ability, and the new Magolor’s Tome Trackers mini-game.

The reveal gave us a considerable amount of footage to check out, but just how does it measure up to the Wii release? The video above puts the two versions side-by-side to let you see just how different the Switch version is.

The tough puff Kirby is back for a 4-player platforming adventure. Copy enemies’ abilities and use their power to attack with a sword, wield a whip, and float with a parasol. The extra muscle will be handy in finding missing pieces for Magolor’s ship, which crash landed on Planet Popstar. Float and fight along with friends on the same system, where each player can control another Kirby or one of Kirby’s iconic friends like King Dedede, Meta Knight, and Bandana Waddle Dee.

The biggest difference I see is a game(called Kirby's Adventure Wii in Europe and Australia) that is €20 on Wii U, versus what no doubt will have an obligatory €60 price tag on Switch.

These kind of announcements make my sadly quite confident that we won’t be getting a GameCube or Wii NSO app, ever. Nintendo would rather remaster GC and Wii games and sell them to us again… sigh.
