Pokemon Scarlet/Violet had exactly two days’ worth of sales in the UK, and that was enough for the games to jump straight to the #1 position on the UK software charts. Not surprisingly, that major launch boosted the sales of the Switch itself.

While we don’t have the specific numbers, we do know that the Switch managed to see its biggest week of hardware sales for all of 2022 in the UK. It’s clear people saw Pokémon Scarlet and Violet as a reason to jump in on Switch hardware, be it for the first time or a supplemental unit.

Switch hardware sales rose a whopping 62% in the UK compared to last week, and fans decided to go with the OLED version above all other options.

Hopefully just holiday sales and people aren't buying the new Pokemon so we can continue to get poor performing and graphically ugly games.

It also would possibly be helped by people buying their Christmas presents at this time. And it's like numerous people have pointed out, the Pokémon company have no incentive to make their games perfect before release, as people will buy them regardless.

UK being “PlayStation territory” is becoming less and less of a thing.
