Welcome to GoNintendo Rewind! This will be a weekly feature that takes a look back at the video content we shared over the last 7 days. You can look forward to podcast episodes, clips pulled from each show, gameplay videos, what we’re up to on Patreon, and more!

This is the first installment of GoNintendo Rewind, as this week also marked the return of more original video content on GoNintendo. While our return to video will focus mostly on podcast content and a weekly gameplay video at first, we’ll slowly branch out into more features. If you’re curious what we’ve been up to video-wise each week, this is the perfect place to pop in!

First up, we have GoNintendo Podcast Webisode 865. If you want a detailed breakdown of what this episode has to offer, you can find the complete timestamp rundown here. You can also use that link to get an audio-only version of the podcast. If you’d rather just watch the podcast itself, you can find that above.

Next up is a snippet from GoNintendo Podcast Webisode 865 that discusses Nintendo’s hardware and the unique features they offer. Nintendo has certainly packed in all sorts of bells and whistles into both their consoles and controllers, but do those features get utilized enough? We discuss in the clip above.

In our second podcast clip, we cover the most recent nominees for the World Video Game Hall of Fame. It’s a rather odd list altogether, as it includes titles you’d expect to already be in the Hall of Fame, and others that make you scratch your head as to why they’re nominated!

In our final podcast clip for this week, we dig into the upcoming Splatoon 3 Splatfest. Once again, the topic is one ripe for conversation and heated debate. Between aliens, bigfoot and the Loch Ness monster, who would you choose?!

In our final video of the week, we offer a round of gameplay with commentary. I used to do gameplay videos quite often, showcasing various title and discussing all sorts of things while playing. Just this week, I got all of my capture hardware set up again and thought I’d give things a test run with Side Pocket in the Switch Online SNES collection. These gameplay videos are meant as an easy-going series where you can just chill and enjoy. I hope that’s exactly what you get from this installment!

Last, but not least, we have the GoNintendo Patreon. Did you know that you can join the GoNintendo Patreon for just $1? That’s literally the only tier there is, and it gives you access to every single post/feature/video we share on Patreon!

For those who don’t know, GoNintendo’s Patreon offers all kinds of discussion and features. I certainly talk about Nintendo in multiple posts, but I also write about videogames in general, anime, pro wrestling, TV shows, movies, and so much more. You can expect reviews, stream of consciousness features, questions posed to you guys, and plenty of other approaches.

Here’s what you can find on the GoNintendo Patreon in just the last week alone.

  • How long do you watch a show before giving up on it?
  • Rest in peace, Lance Reddick
  • Getting into the Atelier Ryza series
  • Talking anime with my cousin
  • Will you see the Mario movie day-one?

No matter what’s going on, there’s a new post on the GoNintendo Patreon every single day. If what you’ve seen/heard sounds good, we’d love to see you over there!

That’s it for this week’s GoNintendo Rewind. Again, this recap is meant to focus on our video features and Patreon posts for the week. We still have plenty of other original content on GoNintendo each week in the way of reviews, previews, interviews and more. All you have to do to see that content is check out our front page!

Thanks so much for your continued support of GoNintendo. We’ll see you in the next GoNintendo Rewind!

RMC, I really like the format of this news. I like to be able to drop in on specific topics you discussed in the podcast and hear what you and your crew think about them. I don't always have time to listen to a whole podcast, so this is nice.

Regarding the Video Game Hall of Fame: Computer Space is the FIRST ARCADE GAME. It even predates Pong. It established the concept of creating hardware specific to one game, putting it in a box with a screen and controls, and letting people insert coins to play it. I think it deserves the honors even more than good choices like Quake and Goldeneye.

@hawk

Thank you for the kind words, as well as the info on Computer Space! That's definitely an important thing to note, and it makes me reconsider my list a bit!
