A new Mario game would help.. Why would you talk about Switch like it is slowly approaching the end of its life cycle when you haven't even tried bringing out something like a Mario Odyssey 2?

Probably because 3D Mario has always been a 1 game per console generation besides Galaxy 2. But that was an exception not the rule.

Yes but we can ask ourselves if consoles will need to be replaced that often from now on. Switch seems like a solid console that has the potential to bring so many more amazing game experiences.

At some point higher resolutions don't really do that much because the difference can't really be seen anymore. If that is where we are heading you can ask yourself is a console that is a super computer beyond everything that is out there really a necessity for a game console or is it at some point not that urgent to replace tech for a (non VR) console with a normal rectangular screen and a few buttons?
