These last couple of weeks have been chock-full of voice actor discussion! First we had all the chatter about the voice actors for the upcoming Mario movie, and then a huge wave of controversy surrounding Bayonetta 3 popped up. Now we’re swinging back in Mario’s direction, but thankfully with something fun!

Charles Martinet will forever be known as the voice of Mario. The character is no doubt his most famous work, but Martinet has lent his talents to plenty of other projects over the years. That includes a bit part in the English dub for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, which came long before most fans would come to know Martinet as Mario.

Turns out Martinet worked on the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure 1993 OVA dub, as was confirmed by a decades-old video that has just resurfaced. Not only does the clip show the character Martinet was playing, it also shows us some footage of Martinet in the booth! You can see the man himself in action below.

I had no idea there was an old Jojo's anime. And damn it's dark... I hate dubbing but for what it is Charles is amazing here.
