It seems the weekly UK software sales are now back on track, and we’re getting the full top 40 breakdown on Tuesdays as usual. If you’ve been wondering how things went in the last 7 days, you can get the full rundown for UK software sales for the week ending Oct. 22nd, 2022 below.

As you can see, Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope debuted at #3 this week, which is certainly a respectable position. As a reminder, digital sales data for Nintendo games isn’t included in this chart.

Unfortunately, UK retail launch sales for Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope are down 50% down compared to the original. That said, the original game saw a large amount of sales from the digital release, so it’s likely the same for Sparks of Hope. Hopefully we can get a more clear picture of the game’s sales soon.

We know that overall digital sales are up significantly compared to 5 years ago. So I wouldn’t be surprised if Sparks of Hope actually outpaced the original.

Didn't the original game have a really quick price drop? I bought it when it weirdly hit about $20 after a certain amount of time, and I haaaaaaate Rabbids. But I only bought it because it was cheap so quickly.

That's not good for Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope. I'd seen the charts and thought that's not bad considering FIFA 23 is a behemoth, Gotham Knights is new and multiplatform. But when you hear it's only 50% of the original's sales? Oof!

What I did note earlier was that Persona 5 Royal couldn't even outsell MK8D. Like honestly, that game has to be selling a few thousand copies at most each week. You could excuse P5R I guess for being a full priced niche old port.
