Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration is an ambitious new title that aims to celebrate the games of Atari while simultaneously introducing them to new players. In a new video interview with Shack News, the game’s developers, Digital Eclipse, sat down to discuss exactly what went into the creation of the game.

Topics discussed include how the team chose which games to include, and how they wanted players to feel while interacting with them. In the quote below, developer Stephen Frost details how the feel of Atari 50 is different from other game compilations:

You can kind of go to where you want to based off your own personal interests. So I think a key fundamental difference between this collection and other ones that we’ve even released where the museum and the games were sort of separated into their own kind of department is we tried to make everything very seamless, where you can jump around and navigate very easily, not only between the timelines, but the games, jumping back, so you can really digest this in a manner that is your own way, you’re not forced down a certain path.
