Now that Pokémon has transitioned fully to 3D graphics, it seems that some fans are missing the charm of the simpler 2D sprites from past games. In a nod to that past, one fan going by R3dd1t_D4v1d on Reddit has shared their own take on what Scarlet and Violet’s Pokémon might look like in 2D. Specifically, they’ve created animated sprites of fire starter Fuecoco and its evolutions (Crocalor and Skeledirge) in the style of Pokémon Black and White.

Click here to view these sprites in all their animated glory. They happily bounce in place, mouths opening and flames burning, just as they might during in-game battles. It seems unlikely that Game Freak will return to this graphical style any time soon, so for now, fans of this old school look will have to enjoy this fan-made effort instead.

Even though this is going to get a takedown, I think GF needs to look at it and just stick to sprites rather than making 3D graphics that are..average at best.
