Platinum's Kamiya says he never wants Bayonetta to end, has spin-off ideas
Bayonotta going away
It took a long time for Bayonetta 3 to arrive after its reveal. So long that some people thought the game was in development hell or would be cancelled altogether. Thankfully, that was nothing more than speculation, and Bayonetta 3 finally arrived just a few weeks back.
Even more surprising was the recent reveal of Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon, a spin-off title heading to Switch in March 2023. If PlatinumGames’ Hideki Kamiya has his way, this side title will be the next in a very long line of Bayonetta games to come.
In an interview with IGN, Hideki Kamiya stated that his goal is to never let the Bayonetta franchise end. Furthermore, he asked fans to believe in this sentiment, and trust that he’ll never do anything to betray the fans. Kamiya wants that trust as he says there are many more Bayonetta stories to tell, including main entries and more spin-offs. According to Kamiya, if he has his way, they could take Bayonetta all the way up to a 9th mainline entry.
Kamiya even stated that he already has an idea for a game centering on Jeanne, one of Bayonetta’s friends. This game would see Jeanne in the role of a superhero called “Cutie J,” but we didn’t get any other specifics on what this title would be like.

She's clearly burned those bridges with lying about what happened

6M agoAnd to imagine 2,3 and Origins would never have existed without Nintendo. It's one of those odd yet great stories in gaming.
We're already getting one spin-off, which I have already preordered, so I am sure we'll get more.9 full games would be sweet though. Violetta should get her own spin-off!
I see a lot of people still whining about 3's end, but it really isn't that bad me thinks. Was bitter-sweet actually and that in a good way!

6M agoIf only they could find a way to pry Viewtiful Joe away from Capcom and revive that franchise. I'll bet there's still enough Clover guys hanging around that they could get on that.

6M agoHmm, 3 seemed like a good point to stop even though the stinger said it would continue. Didn't like the blocking mechanic with Viola to be honest.

A third V-Joe would be nice. While we're at it I wouldn't mind them getting the rights for Okami either and make a true sequel. Not that it needs a sequel, but think they could go creative there.
A new MAdWorld wouldn't be a sad thing either.

It took some time to get used to but when I did I got pretty good at Viola's blocking and was pretty satisfying even. It's just so different from the usual Cereza thing that it was weird at first.
Viola wasn't as bad as I first thought, but only give her a spin-off. I don't think there is any fan in the world who would want V to replace Cereza in the main games.
