Factorio getting a $5 increase "to account for inflation"

Factorio is one of the most recent impossible Switch ports that launched, coming to Switch late last year. It took Factorio quite awhile to head to Switch, as the original game launched 7 years ago. In those 7 years, times have certainly changed, and so have prices. Now, the team behind Factorio is looking to keep up with those times.

A tweet sent out from the official Factorio account says that on Thursday, January 26th 2023, the team will increase the base price of Factorio by $5. According to the devs, this is an adjustment to account for the level of inflation since the Steam release in 2016.

We’re not sure if this means the Switch version of the game will see a price increase, as the title already sits at $40. We’ll keep an eye on the eShop and let you know if the price does indeed jump.
