On October 13, 2020, the senior designer at NetherRealm Studios tweeted about an undiscovered Easter egg in Mortal Kombat 11. Now, nearly four years since the game’s release, that Easter egg has finally been uncovered.

The secret was discovered by Mortal Kombat YouTuber Wazminator, and it involves the fighter Erron Black. During his victory animation, if you hold Up on your controller, Erron Black will toss a coin at his opponent, rather than putting it back in his pocket as he normally does. In addition, he’ll spout out the previously unheard voice line, “Keep the change.”

Designer Aaron Davis confirmed via Twitter that this was in fact the Easter egg he alluded to years ago. A new victory animation might not seem like a huge deal, but it’s always exciting when something new is discovered in a game years after its release. Check out the Easter egg for yourself via the tweet below.
