While we don’t have the specific sales numbers just yet, we do have some insight into how the physical launch of Metroid Prime Remastered went in the UK.

According to early data, Metroid Prime Remastered’s launch at retail was good enough to land as the fourth biggest launch of the series in the UK. Remember, this placement is based solely on sales of the physical version of the game. Hopefully we’ll see where in the weekly UK software sales the game placed soon, but we do know it sold roughly half of what Metroid Prime launched to on the GameCube.

While fourth biggest physical launch for the series might not seem like a big deal, it’s certainly important to note that Metroid Prime Remastered saw a digital release on the Switch eShop nearly two weeks prior to the physical launch. Without a doubt, that version of the game chipped away at potential physical sales.

Nearly a month after the digital release in the UK, actually. Same for the rest of Europe and Japan.
