GQ Magazine has set out to find the best game of all-time, and the results will no doubt make Nintendo quite happy.

In a new feature from GQ, the magazine has gathered 300 experts from across the game industry, including notable devs and press members, to figure out which game is the best of all-time. 652 games were named by the panel of experts, the votes were tabulated, and the top 100 have been chosen.

While you should definitely check out the entire top 100, we’re guessing you are most interested in the top 10. You can find those below, running from #1 to #10.

  1. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
  2. The Last of Us
  3. Tetris
  4. Bloodborne
  5. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
  6. Mass Effect 2
  7. Metal Gear Solid
  8. Portal 2
  9. Dark Souls
  10. Half-Life 2

Many people think The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is one of the best games ever made, and it appears enough developers and press members feel it deserves the #1 spot. According to GQ, Breath of the Wild “not only received the most votes, but also placed in people’s number-one [slot] more than any other rival.”

Will Tears of the Kingdom find itself on this list once GQ attempts another ‘Best of all-time’ game list? We have a good feeling about it! Until then, you can check out GQ’s current top 100 games of all-time list here.

All solid picks, but this list really wears its recency bias on its sleeve. Why is Super Mario Bros. stuck down at #95? Granted, they admit to playing fast and loose with the methodology.

It'll be hard to create a list like this. There are so many games you'll need to have played before you can choose the strongest titles. BotW won't be near the top of my list I think.

Shame it’s going to lose that title in a few hours :)
