Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom gets its first sub-60 minute speedrun

When The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom first launched, speedrunners were doing their best to break the game and rush to the end. The first times were sitting at roughly 100 minutes to completion, but just a few weeks later we’ve seen that number drastically reduced.
Speedrunner Zdi6923, who has tackled numerous Zelda speedruns over the years, has just snagged the first Tears of the Kingdom speedrun that’s under an hour. The any% speedrun clocks in at 59:22, and you can see the entire thing from start to finish above.
While Zdi6923 might be the current record-holder, this speedrunning time is sure to drop even further. Speedrunners are just getting started with the title, and all sorts of exploits and methods are being explored. It’ll be extremely interesting to see where the speedrunning scene is for Tears of the Kingdom a year from now!
