Ecosia is German-based search engine that works hard to help the environment. 80% of the company’s profits go to nonprofit organizations that focus on reforestation. In their latest effort to make the planet a better place, Ecosia is teaming with Niantic to help grow some trees for Pokémon GO’s next few Community Days.

From April to July 2022, Ecosia will plant a tree for every 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) walked by a Pokémon GO player on a Community Day. The company has a goal of reaching 100,000 trees each month, and the fun kicks off with Stufful Community Day on April 23rd, 2022.

Seems like a pretty great collaboration! Pokémon GO players are sure to put in a lot of miles with the game on Community Day events, and just by getting out there to play, they’ll be helping grow some real-life trees! Sounds like a win-win for everyone involved.
