Monster Hunter is now a top-tier franchise for Capcom, which means the merch opportunities are rolling in. All sorts of interesting licensed products have been released before, but today’s reveal might be the most entertaining yet.

The Monster Hunter: Great Roar Karuta set is a card game based on Uta-garuta game rules. In this game, players have to find cards that showcase some of Monster Hunter’s moments or iconic scenes. This game includes two CDs featuring Japanese voice actor Tomokazu Sugita, and he’ll be the one narrating cards for players to find. Even better, one of the CDs features music and monster roars taken Monster Hunter, and players will have to use those audio cues to find the appropriate card.

The Monster Hunter: Great Roar Karuta set launches in Japan on June 30th, 2022, and is priced at roughly $43. This set is extremely up to date with the Monster Hunter series, as it’ll include Malzeno, a monster from Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, on its monster list.
