Super Mario Bros. Wonder's director knows fans are happy to see Daisy playable, and he's just as pleased as well

The debut trailer for Super Mario Bros. Wonder had a lot of surprising elements in it, but the reveal of a playable Daisy might have been the one that fans were most excited to see. After years of being relegated to sports titles and spin-offs, it’s wonderful to see Daisy get the spotlight in a mainline Mario adventure.
In an interview with Eurogamer, Super Mario Bros. Wonder director Shiro Mouri made mention of the positive reaction to Daisy from fans, noting it’s a character he’s very happy to include as well. Turns out bringing Daisy into the mix will settle some arguments at home as well!
“This is a personal family anecdote but I have two daughters myself and when they played previous Mario titles, they would always fight over who gets to play Peach. Including Daisy will help resolve fights within my own household, and also I thought that having Daisy would be something that a lot of Mario fans would be happy with!”

3M agoStill would have been way better if they all had their own playing styles. Could have added shitloads of replayability and variety and fun.

Just have it like they did with SMB2 and World. So this was a big bummer for me. So I'll wait with this one.

Better than nothing but damn what a lost opportunity.
